Angeline Usewicz

Angeline Usewicz is a project manager/instructional designer with d’Vinci Interactive, a subsidiary of JPL that is based in Hagerstown, MD and Harrisburg, PA. d’Vinci develops learning experiences, educational sites, and web & mobile applications. She works with clients and subject matter experts to develop innovative programs and help organizations improve performance. Prior to d’Vinci, Angeline worked as a Training Specialist with Schoolwires, where she delivered eLearning and classroom-based training for school administrators and teachers.  

Angeline holds a bachelor's degree in Applied Behavior Sciences and a Master of Education in Training and Development from Penn State.

Responsible To:  Board

Position Summary:  The President, an elected and voting member of the Board, provides leadership and direction to the Chapter, focusing resources on the issues that fulfill the Chapter mission and annual plan. The President ensures ongoing attention is paid to the Chapter's budget and strategic plan, ensuring that relevant goals are established, budgeted, acted upon and reviewed. The President presides over the local Chapter Board meetings.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership to the Board and within the Chapter.
  • Provides guidance and ideas and facilitates discussions regarding issues relevant to the Chapter.
  • Leads Board meetings and attends as many programs as possible.
  • Ensures that an annual report is developed and published that includes goals for the year including that an operating budget is developed and published annually.
  • Sets the agenda and presides at all Board meetings, at least once each quarter and ensures a meeting report is available to members if requested.
  • Selects and leads a committee to identify new committee leaders/chairs.

Position Qualifications:

  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Effective communication skills speaking in public
  • Familiar with ATD policies and procedures
  • Is required to be National ATD member
  • Willingness to devote 2 years to the Chapter in a leadership capacity
  • Experience with the various components of the Chapter in a recent Board position.

Time Required:

  • Approximately 7-8 hours per month, including Board meetings
  • Requested to attend ATD National Leadership Conference in Virginia (2 days)
 


 

Past President

Marcia Perrotti

Marcia has 30+ years of technology training experience. Previously she was a training & development project manager at The Hershey Company where she managed training activities related to large company-wide system implementations, including global locations for The Hershey Company. Her skill set includes organization change management, technology training, content development, eLearning design and delivery, communications, assessment, evaluation and reporting. Marcia holds a bachelor's degree in Finance and a Master of Science in Information Services from Penn State University.

  • Is required to be National ASTD member
  • Willingness to devote 2 years to the Chapter in a leadership capacity
  • Experience with the various components of the Chapter in a recent Board position.

Time Required:

  • Approximately 7-8 hours per month, including Board meetings
  • Requested to attend ATD National Leadership Conference in Virginia (2 days)


 

President Elect

Selena Boyer

Selena is a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance with over twenty years of experience educating employees in the pharmaceutical, medical device and healthcare industries. She is a highly versatile Training Manager and Technical Supervisor with experience as a strong leader. She is recognized as a supervisor with demonstrated leadership skills including the development of effective teams. Selena is active in the National ATD through participation on the Excellence in Practice as a Reviewer and a member of the Program Advisory Committee 2016 International Conference and Exposition.

Responsible To: 

Position Summary:  The President Elect, an elected and voting member of the Board, assumes the duties of the President in the President's absence or when the President is no longer able to serve as Chapter President. This Chair oversees various administrative tasks of the Chapter.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Attends all Chapter Board meetings and chairs the meetings in the President's absence.
  • Attends as many programs and program development activities as possible.
  • Completes the annual Chapter CORE, a report giving an update and status of Chapter requirements and activities for the past year to ATD National office.
  • Familiarizes himself/herself with the activities of the Chapter and National ATD so as to better fulfill the duties of President the following year.
  • Answers questions for the paid Administrative Assistant and helps with problem resolution.
  • Maintains Chapter records in Operational Manual.
  • Stays in contact with the National ATD organization by linking with the Regional ATD Manager and researches questions on Chapters Leaders' Board outline.

Position Qualifications:

  • National ATD membership
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Willingness to devote 3 years to the Chapter in a leadership capacity
  • Experience with the various components of the Chapter in a recent Board position

Time Required:

  • Approximately 6-7 hours per month, including Board meetings

VP of Programs

Nicole Haverstraw

Nicole has been a training and development professional for over 16 years. She was a trainer for two years for Williams-Sonoma, a learning and performance specialist for Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc. for 13 years, and has been a training consultant at Deloitte since June 2016. Her skill set includes classroom and webinar training delivery, instructional design using the ADDIE model, and overseeing a teller training program. One of her biggest passions is working hard to meet the needs of each learner. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English Education from Bloomsburg University and a Master of Education in Training and Development from Penn State. She is an active member of the Harrisburg Bicycle club, including being the coordinator of the 2016 Kings Gap Time Trial. She has been a member of Central PA ATD for about 16 years.

Position Summary:  The Vice President of Programs, an elected position and voting member of the Board, is responsible for providing guidance and resources to ensure that the Chapter's program goals and obligations are fulfilled. This primarily involves assembling a Program Committee for the purpose of developing and scheduling of programs that will meet the developmental needs of the membership.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and leads a Program Committee that selects speakers for Chapter programs and handles the setup and delivery of the programs to the membership.
  • Coordinates the selection of speakers, informs the speakers of timing details, informs the membership of the program, and handles registration at the door to collect funds and track attendance.
  • Attends Board meetings and as many Chapter activities as possible.
  • Determines program location and agenda and distributes evaluation.
  • Works with the President and President-Elect to arrange yearly budget in regard to Programs.
  • Determine appropriate recognition for program speaker(s).

  • National ATD membership
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good management and leadership skills
  • Needs to be willing to devote 4 years to the Chapter in a leadership capacity

Time Required:

  • Approximately 6-7 hours per month, including Board meetings

VP of Membership

Tracy Griffith

Tracy is a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance with over fifteen years of experience training in the nonprofit sector. Tracy is often a Jill of all trades with experience in database development, event planning, curriculum development, website design, instructional design, technical support, survey design, evaluation, and training of the trainers. As the training institute manager at the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence, she built the Online Learning Center providing eLearning for staff, volunteers, and other professional partners in Pennsylvania and Colorado. Tracy is an active member of National ATD and the eLearning Guild. Tracy holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Dickinson College. She is the founder and owner of Andraste Consulting.

Position Summary:  The Vice President of Membership is an elected position and voting member of the Board. The VP Membership is responsible for the oversight of membership activities, providing guidance and resources to ensure the Chapter's membership goals and obligations are met and related activities. This includes new member orientation, oversight of member records, communication to the Board regarding membership activities or issues and related interaction with chapter members and National ATD.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Attends Chapter Board meetings and chapter events and functions.
  • Conducts and oversees new member recruitment, orientation and retention activities.
  • Reviews and updates member correspondence.
  • Supports the Chapter Administrative Assistant to ensure membership database and reports are updated including new member reports, renewals, and non-renewals.
  • Develops strategies around retention and non-renewal.
  • Promotes the chapter website, activities, events and related opportunities to members.

Position Qualifications:

  • Management/leadership skills including interpersonal and communication skills
  • Membership in the National ATD
  • Commitment of one year to the chapter in this capacity

Time Required:

  • Approximately 6-7 hours per month, including planning, meetings, member contact
  • Attendance at the ATD National Leadership Conference in Virginia (2 days) strongly preferred
  • Other time commitments may be required based upon chapter needs


 

VP of Marketing

Larry Asu

Larry is a native of Sarawak, Malaysia and has lived in the United States for 4 years. In his current position, Larry is responsible for conceptualizing and developing interactive learning solutions, including eLearning, instructor-led training, and blended solutions that support the successful implementation of informational systems in a corporate and global environment. His passions and interests include technology in training, learning management systems, training assessments, communications, social media, mentoring, and partnership with the community. Larry holds a bachelor's degree in Human Resource Development and a Master of Education in Training and Development from Penn State University. Larry is an active member of National ATD. Larry enjoys meeting people and traveling to places near and far. In his free time, he enjoys singing with his barbershop chorus (The Keystone Capital Chorus), cycling, and exploring the United States – 24 States and counting!

Position Summary: The Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations is an elected officer of the Chapter. This position oversees activities related to the marketing of chapter initiatives. In addition, this position oversees activities related to communication among the Chapter members at large, and communication with the community and other professional associations.

Primary Functions:

  • Website Content
  • Internal chapter communications: newsletter, event emails, meeting announcements, updates, etc.
  • Promotion of chapter activities to local HR and training professionals
  • Development of marketing communications: brocures, infographics, etc.
  • Marketing and PR support for a Business Community Outreach Program

Lines of Communication:

The Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations supports the President, interacting with the Board and other members of the leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures a communication piece is sent to members at least once each quarter.
  • Ensures that the Chapter adheres to ATD identity guidelines.
  • Develops goals for maintaining and improving internal Chapter communications.
  • Supports a project plan to create a Business Community Outreach Program.
  • Manages Chapter publicity and media relations.
  • Markets special projects (ex. TTT workshop, National Conference, etc.)
  • Oversees website development activities and newsletter production.
  • Serves as a communications advisor to the leadership team.

  • Newsletter Editors - responsible for publishing and distributing Chapter Newsletters
  • Webmaster - responsible for maintaining the Central PA ATD web site


 

VP of Finance

Jillian Haynes

Jillian Haynes is the senior accountant for JPL located in Harrisburg, PA. JPL is a full-service, integrated marketing agency that provides brand, digital, advertising, video productions, event, and learning solution services. Jillian provides monthly company and departmental financials to the executive team, and also works closely with each department’s management team to create and adjust annual and quarterly budgets. Prior to JPL, she worked as a financial analyst with NHS Human Services and as a senior accountant with Webclients, LLC. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Ashford University based in Clinton, Iowa.

Responsible To:  Chapter Administration Chair and Board

Position Summary:  The Vice President of Finance, an elected and non-voting member of the Board, is responsible for keeping the financial records of the Chapter, setting up a bank account, directing income into appropriate accounts and paying bills within 30 days of receipt. The VP of Finance provides guidance and information for the Chapter in the areas of financial procedure development, cash flow, and investment planning.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Attends Board meetings and as many Chapter activities as possible.
  • Ensures incoming funds are deposited into appropriate Chapter accounts in a timely manner.
  • Pays authorized bills in a timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records of revenues and expenses.
  • Helps educate other Board members regarding financial obligations and procedures.
  • Prepares special reports as requested by the Board and/or Chapter President.
  • Ensures that the Chapter is in compliance with required federal and state financial reporting requirements. Prepares and files annual IRS returns as needed.
  • Files any required employer forms for paid staff.
  • Provides copies of expense sheets for Board and Chapter member use.
  • Prepares the books for the annual internal and the biannual external reviewers.

Position Qualifications:

  • Experience maintaining financial records
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping
  • Ability to work spreadsheets

Time Required:

  • Approximately 5-6 hours per month, including Board meetings
